Rhema Otabor’s Olympic Qualification

The next time you see Rhema Otabor, you’ll have to address her by several titles: two-time NCAA champion, national title holder, NCAA record holder, and now Olympian. Otabor launched a mammoth 64.19m throw on her fifth attempt to win gold at the NCAA Division 1 Championships, surpassing the Olympic qualifying standard of 64.00m. She became the first Cornhusker to win back-to-back titles in 20 years.

Bahamas Bowl Returns in 2025

The Bahamas Bowl returns to paradise in 2025. ESPN Events announced yesterday that the Bahamas Bowl will return to the Thomas A. Robinson Stadium on Saturday, January 4, at 11 a.m. After a one-year absence due to renovations at the stadium, the longest-running international bowl in college football history will return for its ninth edition. This will be the first time the Bahamas Bowl has been played in January and on a Saturday. The game features matchups between teams from Conference USA and the Mid-American Conference.

Bahamas Athletic Pride’s First Signing Day

Bahamas Athletic Pride (BAP) hosted its first signing day and announced where several young women will be playing softball next fall. Collegiate player Reghan Ingraham will head to Vorhees University in Denmark, South Carolina, while high schoolers Katelyn Bain and Janae Bain will go to the Independent School in Wichita, Kansas. BAP Softball was founded by Dachye Stubbs, who envisioned showcasing the skillset of young girls and developing the game of softball locally.
