GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Last month, we reported on the quarter-billion-dollar Six Senses Resort and Residential Community in Grand Bahama, which is one step closer to getting started. The Department of Environmental Planning and Protection has approved the project’s environmental impact assessment.

The $250 million development will consist of 64 resort rooms, up to 28 branded residences, a Six Senses Spa, multiple restaurants, an event space, and a beach club. It will be developed under the Six Senses brand and management, which operates sustainable luxury resorts in unique locations of natural beauty in 19 countries. The development, spearheaded by Weller Development Partners, is on track for a late-2024 start for construction.

The project will be LEED certified, with sustainability and eco-tourism as major staples in its plans. Weller says focusing on sustainability is vital to leaving our children a stable environment.
