Through economic hardships and natural disasters, the Bahamian spirit has remained resilient from pre-independence to the present. Our people, the backbone of this nation, have undoubtedly driven its remarkable progress over the past five decades. Yet, one challenge we continue to face is the nation’s reliance on food imports.

Enter Lincoln Deal.

With his vision for food sustainability, his company Eden Farms is set to revolutionize agriculture. His plan? To equip every family island with tech-savvy trailers that promote vertical farming, ensuring food sustainability becomes a reality sooner rather than later.

And if you didn’t know, Deal also serves as one of several vice chairmen for the Free National Movement. But you’d be surprised to hear his vision for how the country should evolve over the next 50-plus years.

During our one-on-one interview at Margaritaville’s JWB Restaurant, Deal opened up about his journey to success, offered advice for young people interested in politics, and revealed what defines him as quintessentially Bahamian.

In our upcoming Independence special “Emerging Bahamians,” Deal unveils a more personal side, delving into the joys of fatherhood and the delicate balancing act of his life. His impassioned vision focuses on carrying the baton forward, aiming to feed and elevate our nation to becoming the best little country in the world.
