GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – In a few weeks, Team Bahamas will head to St. Lucia for the Goodwill Games. While practices have been in full swing in New Providence, a portion of the team is also training in Grand Bahama. Our Sasha Lightbourne caught up with them over the weekend.

Those were two members of Team Bahamas’ 2024 Goodwill team. The team heads to competition in St. Lucia on August 14. Most of the team practices in New Providence, but a portion of the team resides in Grand Bahama. They have been practicing around the clock as well. Leading practices on the island is Coach Ashton Knowles.

The swimmers shared what they have been working on during practices at the YMCA.

Rafael McBroom, a swimmer from Team Bahamas, expressed confidence in the team’s performance, stating, “I think we can get it done. We’ve been working hard on our starts and dives, and everyone is improving.”

Rafael also believes the team will achieve a two-peat victory at the games.
