ISRAEL – As cross-border attacks between Israel and Hezbollah continue, at least 558 people were killed by Israeli airstrikes on Monday, including 50 children and 94 women. Among those killed were four first responders. Lebanese officials say a total of 1,835 people were wounded by the strikes.

The violence has prompted the U.N. human rights chief to call on anyone with influence in the Middle East to avert further escalation in hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah.
