McCoy Lands Pro Deal With Adidas
Wanya McCoy has taken the next step in his career, signing a professional sponsorship agreement with Adidas, becoming the latest Bahamian track and field athlete to join the global sportswear brand.
The 22-year-old has enjoyed a steady rise through the sport.
As a junior, McCoy announced himself on the international stage by winning under-20 NACAC gold medals in the 200 meters, 400 meters, and the 4×100-meter relay in 2021.
He began his collegiate career at Clemson University, where he earned all-ACC honors, before transferring to the University of Florida ahead of the 2024 season.
There, he enjoyed a breakout campaign, running lifetime bests of 10.02 seconds in the 100 meters and 19.93 seconds in the 200 meters, both among the fastest times ever by a Bahamian.
Those performances helped qualify him for the 2024 Paris Olympics, where he represented The Bahamas in both the 100 and 200 meters, marking his olympic debut.
The Adidas deal represents another milestone for McCoy as he continues his development toward the 2028 Olympic Games.
