GRAND BAHAMA , BAHAMAS – Over in Grand Bahama, nominations happened on Thursday both in East and West Grand Bahama constituencies.

A relatively quiet scene was outside the Church of the Ascension on Thursday, as the nomination center officially opened.

Kwasi Thompson, Free National Movement candidate, was the first out of the gate, arriving with supporters and a burst of energy.

With documentation in hand, Thompson says he is ready for the race ahead.

Shortly after, Monique Pratt, Progressive Liberal Party candidate, arrived, flanked by her supporters.

She, too, is confident of victory following her nomination.

Administrator Yvonne Ward confirmed it was a smooth a smooth process, with an additional candidate expected from the Coalition of Concerned Citizens.

Over in West Grand Bahama, three candidates were officially nominated at the Eight Mile Rock High School Gym.

Incumbent PLP candidate Kingsley Smith and FNM challenger Omar Issacs were joined by COI candidate Toni Stubbs Albury.

Administrator for West Grand Bahama, Ricardo Ferguson, also spoke.

However, there was a familiar hiccup, as the COI candidate needed a letter from her party.
