“On Sunday night the Free National Movement unveiled their agenda for the upcoming general election, outlining their vision should they be elected the next government. Central to their plans are key areas such as tourism, healthcare, youth development and the promotion of the orange economy.”
The ballroom of Breezes Resort was at full capacity with FNM supporters as the party officially unveiled their 2026 manifesto.
Several of the party’s candidates presented portions of the FNM’s plans.
Party leader Michael Pintard, told supporters that the manifesto calls for the establishment of a national lottery, that will be designed to generate funding for the advancement of education, sports, youth development, and culture.

“Your incoming FNM government will launch a long overdue national lottery, we will launch a national lottery for the benefit and the people of The Bahamas”
Pintard added that the lottery would offer prizes in the hundreds of thousands of dollars and “even millions”, also insisting it can co-exist with private operators.
Another promise by the FNM is the provision of a monthly stipend of $200 in child support for eligible Bahamian parents.
Among the other prominent pledges was the promise to instantly implement the Freedom of Information Act, strengthen the economy, establish a sovereign wealth fund, redevelop the Grand Bahama International Airport, as well as bring banks back to the Family Islands.
Also taking the stage on Sunday night was FNM Chairman Dr. Duane Sands, who’s running for the Bamboo Town constituency.
Sands said an FNM-led government will eliminate the status quo regarding healthcare services.

“We will also ensure that dental care is not a luxury. We will fully implement the Dental Professions Bill, we will modernize dental regulations and we will work with the profession to ensure there are sufficient dental professionals providing coverage in every area of this country. You know because a toothache should not be something only some Bahamians can afford to treat.”
Former sports broadcaster and current candidate for Bain and Grants Town, Jay Phillipe, elaborated on the party’s intentions to invest in sports infrastructure.
