NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Former Prime Minister, Dr. Hubert Minnis, weighing in on the announcement of another proposed re-development of La Playa, the government-owned dilapidated mansion and overgrown property near Goodman’s Bay.

While in government, Dr. Minnis slammed the Christie Administration for wasting money with nothing to show.

He’s now calling this new project a waste of money.

Today, the La Playa property sits unkept and rundown.

While in government back in 2021, former Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis, raised concerns over the purchase of La Playa by the Progressive Liberal Party back in 2007 to the tune of some $3.6 million dollars.

He says his government did not agree with the purchase as land was already reserved for the office of the prime minister.

He says his administration wanted to sell the property and develop an infrustructe development fund.

Dr. Minnis emphasizing that FNM, under his previous administration, would not support this recent announcement.

He is calling the project, a waste of money.

Bahamas Striping Group of Companies will be spearheading the re-development project within a 14 month timeline.
