NASSAU, BAHAMAS – All countries in the region are food insecure, according to CARICOM Secretary General Dr. Carla Barnett.

During the opening press conference, Tuesday, Dr. Barnett said an initiative is being led by the President of Guyana to help to beef up food security in the region.

Food security is one of the high priority issues for CARICOM Heads of Government as they meet this week.

While the initiative is being led by Guyana, Dr. Barnett explains it is about food and nutrition security for the whole region, as the body works toward increasing availability and access to nutritious food.
