NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 30-year-old man previously charged with causing dangerous harm is now facing a murder charge.

Waylonte Bartlett was arrested after Samuel Thompson died in hospital on March 26, three weeks after he was allegedly struck in the head while trying part a fight at a nightclub in Rock Sound, Eleuthera.

He was charged with causing dangerous harm on Monday while investigators awaited an autopsy to confirm a link between the alleged assault and Thompson’s death.

Police re-arrested Bartlett after receiving the autopsy report.

Bartlett appeared before Senior Magistrate Algernon Allen Jr on the murder charge today.

Bail was denied and he returns to court on June 13 to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.
