NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Bahamas Aquatics Federation hosted the Open Water trials at Goodman’s Bay Saturday morning, where dozens of athletes competed for a chance to go to the games in Trinidad over the upcoming easter weekend.

Bahamas Aquatics General Secretary Georgette Albury was one of several Bahamas Aquatics Federation officials at the trials where 53 swimmers competed for a chance to go to the games in Trinidad & Tobago over the upcoming Easter weekend.

Three boys and girls in every age group will qualify for the event.

Malcolm Menzies fought through the elements to become the first boy to finish the race.

Carifta veteran Alanna Murray led the way for the girls.

Soccer

The National Beach Soccer Squad has a joint training camp with Tahiti scheduled for next week from the 16th to the 23rd.

The camp, which is closed to the public, will help the team prep for the CONCACAF championships at the Malcolm Park Stadium in New Providence in March.

A finals appearance in CONCACAF will guarantee The Bahamas a slot in the 2025 World Cup in Seychelles in May.
