Classmates Pay Tribute to Crash Victim

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A life cut short in a tragic plane crash on Long Island was celebrated last week. The former classmates of Aleitheia Newbold, gathered on the South Beach Community Park to share precious memories and pay tribute to the young mother, sister and friend.

While the circumstances were brought on by tragedy, the 2018, 2015 and 2012 classes of CH Reeves came together to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Newbold. The 22-year-old mother, sister and friend perished in a plane crash recently while traveling from Long Island Her former classmates host a candlelight vigil in her memory.

While the family has already paid tribute to, mourned the loss of and celebrated the life of Newbold, they also took part in the candlelight vigil. Newbold’s family members say they appreciate her former classmates for their initiative in celebrating her life.

Her aunt, Rita Cartwright, says this is a tough one for the family and she is calling for more support.

South Beach Member of Parliament, Bacchus Rolle, also paying tribute to Newbold.

Her father, overcome with emotion, only able to express his gratitude briefly.
