NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 23-year-old man is behind bars after he was accused of attempting to steal $360,000 from an ATM while on bail for armed robbery.

Prosecutors say that on April 20 Lathor Thompson and another person caused damage to a First Caribbean CIBC ATM kiosk located at the Coral Harbour Plaza in a bid to steal its contents.

Thompson entered not guilty pleas to charges of causing damage and attempted stealing when he made his initial court appearance before Senior Magistrate Kendra Kelly-Burrows.

Bail was denied and the matter was adjourned to July 29 for trial.
