Bahamian athletes were in action in meets across the globe over the weekend from Europe to right here in the Caribbean.
Headlining that list, Ian Kerr finished first in the 200m with his time of 20.91 secs in Poznań, Poland, on World Athletics Continental Tour Silver Series.
Charisma Taylor also has a pair of recent second place finishes in the 100m hurdles on the World Athletics Continental Tour in France – 12.87s seconds at the sottevilLe-lès-rouen meet and 12.90 secs at the stanislas meet.
Also in France, decathlete Kendrick Thompson was back in action at the Decastar Meet and finished third in the decathlon with a season’s best 8177 points.
In Barbados a pair of relay teams fell short in their bid for World Championship qualification at the Barbados Grand Prix.
The 4x400m team of Zion Miller, Alonzo Russell, Andrew Styles and Wendell Miller, ran second in (three minutes five point zero five seconds) 3:05.05 secs.
The target for the World Championships is sub three minutes and the qualification deadline is August 24.
In the mixed relay, Wendell Miller and Zion Miller were joined by Printassia Johnson and Cassidra Thompson, to finish third in (three minutes sixteen point three eight seconds) 3:16.38
