Pilot Accused of Killing Love Rival Gets 6-month Sentence After Drugs Found in Jail Cell

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Pilot Donald Ferguson Jr. has been jailed for six months after he was found with an ounce of marijuana inside his Maximum Security cell while on remand for murder and drug trafficking.

The 28-year-old pleaded guilty to drug possession with intent to supply at his arraignment before Senior Magistrate Raquel Whymms.

Corrections officers found 33 packets of marijuana inside a container during a sweep of Ferguson’s cell on June 19. The drugs weighed one ounce and had an estimated value of $80.

Ferguson is awaiting trial for the June 16, 2024, shooting murder of Geovanni Rolle, who was in a relationship with his estranged wife.

The drug charge stems from the discovery of 1,982 pounds of cocaine and 50 pounds of hydroponic marijuana in Acklins on December 6, 2024.

Authorities seized the drugs after a plane crash-landed on the island, and two men were seen fleeing from the aircraft.

Ferguson’s iPad was allegedly found on the plane.
