Retired Prison Officer Pleads Guilty to Attempted Murder of Former Girlfriend

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A retired prison officer is now an inmate at his former workplace after he pleaded guilty to the attempted murder of his now former girlfriend.

Sixty-seven-year-old Jeffrey Sherman has been jailed for 15 years for the attempted murder of Bridgette Ingraham after he accepted the terms of a plea deal.

Sherman will be liable to an additional year in prison if he commits any further offenses while on probation for two years following his release from prison.

On August 23, 2023, while armed with a shotgun, Sherman went to Ingraham’s home and shot her in the arms after he accused her of cheating.

Sherman will receive credit for his time on remand.

He’s been in custody since March 2024 after his bail was revoked because he continued to stalk his ex.
