NASSAU, BAHAMAS – In 2014, Timothy “Timmay” Bain dared to ask a simple question: Who Dat? That curiosity sparked the beginning of his career as a vlogger, highlighting rising talent in the entertainment industry with his show Who Dat?

Despite encouragement from friends, Timmay’s speech impediment initially made him hesitant to step in front of the camera.

“At this time I was studying media journalism, everyone was saying you write so well, and you won’t really transition unless you get in front of the screen,” Timmay recalls.

Two decades later, he has become a recognized figure in both local and international digital media.

He now works as a digital reporter for Our News, contributes to 5 Reasons Sports, and has covered major NBA events, including the draft ceremonies of Bahamian professional basketball players VJ Edgecombe, Kai Jones, Deandre Ayton, and Buddy Hield.

“International reporters expect to see me when a Bahamian is getting drafted Timmy from the Bahamas, he’s going to be here,” he says, reflecting on his global media presence.

Timmay admits he never imagined he could compete on such a stage, especially with a speech disorder, proving that overcoming inner fears can lead to remarkable achievements.

“If you’re passionate about something, just pick it up. I really wasted four years being afraid,” he shares, encouraging others to listen to their passion over doubt.
