COI Leader: The People of Golden Isles Have A Chance To Change This Nation

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The familiar chant “change ain’t coming, change is here” by the Coalition of Independents (COI) rattled through the Golden Isles constituency Saturday night. The “black out rally” took place on Carmichael Road, serving as the party’s final campaign effort ahead of Monday’s by-election.

Over 100 supporters endlessly waved the country’s flag and shaking pom poms.

The COI had an extensive list of speakers on the evening’s program with all of them endorsing their candidate Brian Rolle.

One of those speakers was COI’s National Chairman Charlotte Green.

“Golden Isles, you just don’t have a candidate, you have a champion, Brian Rolle is the kind of man who listens before he speaks, who serves before he asks, and who shows up before he is even called.”

Now vying to be the area’s next MP, Rolle accused both major political parties of failing the Golden Isles constituency over the years.

He told supporters that under his leadership, change will be evident, adding that he plans to launch a sports program, a scholarship initiative, support businesses in the area and establish community farming.

“We also know that a strong community is a self sustaining one, together we will create a community garden, a place where families can grow fresh organic food, share knowledge, and promote food security.”

Rounding out the list of featured speakers, party leader Lincoln Bain told voters that Monday could be a turning point in the country’s history.

“On Monday the people of Golden Isles has a chance to change this entire nation by one simple move, by voting for Brian Rolle, I got that right? By voting for Brian Rolle they can shift this entire political landscape.”

Before the night came to an end, Bain also took the opportunity to weigh in on the ongoing saga surrounding unaccompanied passports to Haiti, making it clear he does not believe allegations levied by Opposition Leader, Michael Pintard.
