NASSAU, BAHAMAS – We’re rolling into the final stretch of The Ultimate Giveaway brought to you by ALIV and Our News in partnership with Automall. And one lucky winner is about to cruise into the new year behind the wheel of a 2025 Hyundai Creta, a stylish, sleek mid-sized SUV perfect for any Bahamian looking to level up their daily drive.

Tonight, we’re taking a closer look at one of the Creta’s most important features: its air-conditioning system. And as Our News’ Daniella Dorsette found out, it’s smarter and more efficient than most people realize.

Automall Workshop Controller Benje Gomez says many drivers believe the A/C affects gas usage, but that’s not the case. The Creta’s system is built for efficiency, meaning it isn’t burning extra fuel to keep you cool. Instead, proper maintenance, especially changing your A/C filter, is what keeps the system running at its best.

Gomez also explained that using your A/C actually supports safer driving conditions by removing moisture from the air and preventing window fogging. Clear visibility means safer roads, even in cooler weather.

When it comes to upkeep, the A/C filter is key, though many drivers don’t even know it exists. Gomez recommends replacing it every 10,000 kilometers. He says regular use of your A/C keeps refrigerant circulating properly, prevents cracking in seals and tubes, and maintains essential lubrication inside the system, all of which help extend the life of the vehicle.
