NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A new mom is turning her personal journey into purpose, starting an initiative to help other mothers who may go without the support system she says made all the difference in her own life.
Danielle Hanna shares that after welcoming her child, she quickly realized that not every mother has a village to rely on, and that reality pushed her to create one.

“My journey to motherhood has started out to be a little bit overwhelming, and I could not believe that mothers go through all of that, like, behind closed doors, because they don’t really speak about it. You know, it’s just, oh, the baby’s cute, and how’s it going? You’re like, good.”
“So, you know, when I really see what happens behind the scenes, it made me want to push and help mothers. I have help, I have my village within myself, but I really thought about how that’s not everyone’s reality, and I wanted to create that safe space for them.”
Hanna says the initiative is designed to provide both emotional and practical support from connecting moms with resources, to simply being a shoulder to lean on during the tough moments of early motherhood.

“So at the moment, we offer grocery, we do postpartum packages, and then also stuff for babies like diapers, pampers, wipes, clothing, yeah.”
“This is not just about groceries, this is about providing a whole system that any mother would need…”
Whether it’s offering guidance, providing financial support or helping mothers navigate challenges, Danielle says the goal is to make sure no mom feels like she has to do it all alone.
However, balancing motherhood while building an organization from the ground up is no easy task.
Danielle admits it takes discipline, support, and a lot of heart, but more importantly, it took having that same support she wants to give others.

“Fortunate enough to have a village that’s behind me, including his grandparents, his dad. We hired a nanny, and so I have that, you know, free time a little bit where I can assist others.”
She encourages other mothers, and even those without children to get involved and help expand the support network for women in need.

“So there’s many different ways that people can actually help. We do donations, we have a few volunteers that are on board, and any monetary assistance, honestly, can really help…”
Danielle hopes this initiative will grow into a true community, one that reminds every mother that even if they don’t start with a village, they can still find one.
