NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Progressive Liberal Party Leader and now second-term Prime Minister Philip Davis says that the results of the 2026 General Election show that the Bahamian people have chosen progress.

The PLP have become the first party to be voted into a second term since the FNM in 1992.

Free National Movement Leader Michael Pintard conceded defeat in the 2026 General Election on Tuesday night after early results showed the Progressive Liberal Party taking a comfortable lead.

Pintard made the comments during a press conference held at the party’s Grand Bahama headquarters.

The FNM leader also said he spoke with Prime Minister Davis to personally congratulate him.
