Former National Security Minister’s Business Partner Set To Be Sentenced In October

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – There is a new development in the federal case of the ex-business partner of former National Security Minister Marvin Dames, after he recently pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.

Malcolm Goodman will be sentenced for that crime on October 7 by U.S. District Judge Melissa Damian, according to court documents.

Prosecutors have recommended a sentence between nine and 11 years in accordance with a plea deal.

But Damian has the final say on how long Goodman will spend behind bars.

Goodman has been in custody since his arrest by the U.S. Coast Guard on February four miles off Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Goodman a boat captain was the sole occupant of the 45-foot vessel, Reel Xperience, when authorities seized 200 kilos of cocaine, worth $4 million.
