Man Accused Of Luring Missing Boy Into Car

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Prosecutors have filed a charge of child stealing against a man accused of luring a young boy into his car.

33-year-old Orlando Johnson appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Ancella Evans for an incident that allegedly took place at East Street on July 28.

Johnson was arrested shortly after a video that showed 10-year-old Kion Deveaux getting into the vehicle was circulated on social media.

Johnson did not have to enter a plea to the charge and he was denied bail.

The matter is expected to be fast-tracked to the Supreme Court on November 5 with the presentation of a voluntary bill of indictment.
