Grammy Award-winning artist Michelle Williams is scheduled to perform at Jon Batiste’s Jazz Club this Sunday and Monday night.

Shortly after her arrival on the island, I chatted with Michelle, and she shared her thoughts on performing at the club for the first time.

“Nervousness. But I actually saw a couple in the airport in Atlanta, and they were standing at the gate. I just walked up, and they were standing at the gate to board our flight, and they were like, ‘Hey, you’re Michelle Williams, and we’re going to be there. We’re coming Sunday night.’”

She’s known for her stage presence, angelic voice, and larger-than-life personality.

As we continued our conversation, I also discovered that Michelle’s career serves as a testament to her resilience, dedication, and hard work.

She recounted her journey into artistry, revealing that she encountered self-doubt throughout her childhood.

“Although I wasn’t the creator in performing arts in school, and I would audition for musicals and they would never pick me. I’m so serious. And I was like, ‘This theatre teacher, director, they don’t like me. I know I’m good.’”

And she proved herself to be.

Her professional portfolio includes her role as a core member of one of the most iconic girl groups globally, Destiny’s Child.

She’s also an acclaimed gospel artist, and she’s excelled on the theatre stage, performing in multiple Broadway productions, among other achievements.
