NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man on bail for murder and attempted murder is back behind bars charged with committing the same crimes.

Prosecutors say 31 year-old Spencer Lewis is responsible for a double shooting that resulted in the death of Max Darville and seriously injured Deiondre Demeritte.

Both men were attending a grill out through Lucky Heart Corner on September 19 when they were shot by the occupants of a heavily-tinted Toyota Passo.

Darville died in hospital as a result of the shooting on September 23.

Lewis was not required to enter pleas to charges of murder and attempted murder when he appeared before Senior Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans today.

The Comfort Street resident was denied bail and the matter was adjourned to February 16th, 2023 for the presentation of a voluntary Bill of Indictment.

At the time of the incident, Lewis was on bail for the 2017 murder of Kirt Ariste and the attempted murder of Dino Cox.

The charges stemmed from a shooting on Durham Street, off Mount Royal Avenue.
