NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A blistering attack was launched on some local landlords by Environment and Housing Minister Vaughn Miller. Miller says bluntly, some of them are slumlords.

The minister insists those who continue to dump waste need to get their house in order.

Miller’s scathing comments came as he announced a collaboration between the Ministry of Social Services and Urban Renewal and his ministry on an extensive cleanup and beautification project.

The project will begin on October third and is all in an effort to get the country ready for the 50th independence celebration next July.

He estimates phase one of this project will cost millions.
