NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Minister of Health and Wellness, Dr. Michael Darville, is off to Havana this week to address concerns of Bahamian students studying medicine in Cuba.

An issue was raised by some Bahamian students of Escuela Latino Americana de Medicina (Elam Medical School) at a meeting with The Bahamas Ambassador to Cuba, Dr. Elliston Rahming, where they expressed concerns over what they say is an apparent bias in The Bahamas against hiring Cuban trained Bahamian doctors.

The health minister says a meeting on the matter is part of his agenda while abroad, and he hopes a resolution will be one that can help all Bahamian students studying abroad.
