Men Jailed After Using Facebook to Lure Victims

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Two men have been jailed after admitting to using Facebook Marketplace to rob people at gunpoint.

Ellitin Jean and Okino Whyms took plea deals in relation to two robberies that took place on August 10, 2020.

Judah Thurston was robbed of $200 while trying to buy a phone and Anton Bullard was robbed of a PlayStation 4 that he advertised for sale.

Jean alone pleaded guilty to the July 26, 2021 armed robbery of Dustin Taylor.

He was robbed of an iPhone 11, case and charged that he had posted for sale.

Pursuant to the agreement, Gregory Hilton sentenced the men to three years in prison for all of the cases, less the time they had spent on remand.
