“All Flights Should be on Schedule” Following FAA System Outage

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – “All flights should be leaving on schedule,” according to Peter Rutherford, Managing Director of the Airport Authority.

Rutherford gave the media an update, Wednesday morning, after the United States Federal Aviation Authority reported an outage of its Air Missions system.

The outage, which was reported on Twitter, around 6:30am, impacted air traffic in and around the United States.

The FAA is working to restore its Notice to Air Missions System. We are performing final validation checks and reloading the system now.

Operations across the National Airspace System are affected.

We will provide frequent updates as we make progress.

By 8:30am, the FAA reported “normal air traffic operations are resuming gradually across the U.S. following an overnight outage to the Notice to Air Missions system that provides safety info to flight crews. The ground stop has been lifted.”

The FAA is still looking into the cause of the initial problem.
