NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Public Hospitals Authority has finally sealed its industrial agreement with the Bahamas Public Services Union.

PHA Managing Director Dr. Aubynette Rolle says the agreement is valued at $10 million and covers the period from July 2022 to July 2024.

It also makes way for a series of incremental salary increases over three years and other benefits, including the expansion of compassionate leave, as well as the development of a mental health support program, with new uniforms to come yearly.

BPSU President Kimsley Ferguson says his members are satisfied and are especially pleased with the increase in hazardous pay and an insurance plan for employees. But he added there were some other demands, he says, were not met.
