NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Police are now investigating an alleged attack on a teacher at Central Eleuthera High School.

On Wednesday, teachers at the school stepped out of the classroom in support of the teacher who was allegedly attacked by a parent in the school principal’s office.

Belinda Wilson, president of The Bahamas Union of Teachers claims the 15-year-old child of the parent involved in the matter has been in issues before.

She says going forward, parents must realize that the school’s campus is not a lawless environment.

Our News spoke to the Acting Director of Education Dominique McCartney-Russell who said the Ministry has no update on the matter, however it’s under investigation.

Still, the BUT President says this situation is far from over and she and her team will ensure that the campus is safe.

Wilson also giving an update on the state of that teacher who was allegedly involved in the situation.
