2023 Economic Growth Between 4-6%
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Despite the inflationary pinch on the pockets of consumers, the economy is expected to see growth for the second consecutive year since the pandemic.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Despite the inflationary pinch on the pockets of consumers, the economy is expected to see growth for the second consecutive year since the pandemic.
The news from Central Bank Governor John Rolle, who gave a breakdown of the country’s financial situation during the bank’s quarterly press briefing, Monday morning.
Rolle’s projection’s come close to the world banks prediction of 4.1 percent economic growth for The Bahamas in 2023. That works out to nearly half of the 7-9 percent growth in 2022.
It comes as economists are predicting a recession for the United States this year.
But there’s good news, as Rolle says the robust rebound of the country’s most profitable industry has translated to a significant boost in employment.
