NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Illegal migration continues to be a pressing matter for many Bahamians, as the minister of Labour and Immigration addressed some those concerns in the House of Assembly, Wednesday morning.

Just one day after Labour and Immigration, Keith Bell, issued a stern warning to undocumented migrants and those working illegally in The Bahamas on January 18th, arrests were made.

Additionally, 396 irregular migrants from Haiti were intercepted in the area of Cay Sal Bank.

Minister Bell says although the country may be challenged, progress on illegal immigration is being made.

Bell also using the opportunity to address suggestions that The Bahamas is unfairly targeting Haitian citizens.
