NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 17-year-old boy stabbed in broad daylight on an Abaco school campus. Police have a teen suspect in custody who is helping in their investigation.

Reports are that the 17-year-old student was on the school’s playing field around 10am Tuesday, when he was approached and stabbed by another 17-year-old student with a pocket knife.

The victim was transported to the local clinic where he was treated and discharged, while the student with the knife was taken in for questioning.

Education Minister Glenys Hanna-Martin responded to the matter today just before entering the House of Assembly.

The education minister says the presence of police on school campuses throughout the country is making a difference.

While Hanna-Martin says there was not an officer on that particular campus in Abaco, she tells Our News that’s now under review.
