Commissioner’s 2023 Policing Plan Revealed

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The country’s top cop releasing his 2023 policing plan. In the year ahead, the commissioner is looking to put a major dent in crime through 6 key priorities that include enforcing the use of body and dash cams.
With the country recording 128 murders and 555 armed robberies last year, Police Commissioner Clayton Fernander outlining how the police force plans on tackling those violent crimes.
In that plan, the top cop also says firearms were used in more than 90 percent of all violent crimes while unrest between rival gangs and associated drug turf wars have resulted in an uptick in retaliation killings.
Fernander says the force understands criminals today are callous and they plan on neutralizing this threat with innovative initiatives.
