NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A recent increase in mental health patients is cause for concern, which is why the Ministry of Health and Wellness is looking at ways to lend some much needed assistance to those struggling with mental illness.

The Ministry of Health and Wellness is expanding its mental health program.

Press sSecretary, Clint Watson, revealing as much as he says unfortunately the demand and need for assistance has grown in the country.

Watson adding that the Ministry of Health and Wellness is trying to get an understanding of how many Bahamians are dealing with mental health issues.

But, he says the stigma attached to mental illness must be addressed.
