NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Free National Movement Leader Michael Pintard calling out Prime Minister Philip Davis today for providing misleading deficit figures. 

In his mid-year budget communication, Davis said the country’s deficit stood at $285.7 million, representing a $7.8 million increase.

However, when he returned to Parliament last week, he said the deficit decreased by $5.3 million.

In a strong condemnation of the prime minister’s actions, Pintard saying Davis owes the country an apology.

Speaking in Parliament last week, the prime minister said it was a mistake but Pintard reasons that he shouldn’t have gone a full week without addressing it.

The Opposition leader also hitting out at the prime minister’s assertion that the former Minnis administration contracted an unlicensed company to collect immigration fees.

Parliamentarians also heard the notion that this company was the only company collecting fees was incorrect, as Pintard added there were at least three additional companies listed.

Pintard also shot down claims that the over $7 million in arrears was accumulated under the former FNM administration.
