Stray Dogs Continue To Roam The Streets

GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – It appears as if stray dogs continue to be a vexing problem in Grand Bahama.

The Executive Director of the Grand Bahama Humane Society is speaking out on the issue and is also providing a solution to the problem which she says involves the entire community.

The Executive Director of the Grand Bahama Humane Society Tipp Burrows sharing the difficulties surrounding the large amount of stray dogs roaming the streets of Grand Bahama but she believes the issue is not a dog problem but instead, a people problem.

The executive director says it’s disheartening when there are solutions to the problem.

She adds that chaining dogs is not a solution.

Burrows also revealed that last year they took in over 1,300 animals.

She says the society is struggling financially but it is there to assist.

She also shared that the society’s local donor list is small and she’s calling on the community to assist with this problem as any donation can go a long way.
