NEW YORK – The Manhattan District Attorney investigating Donald Trump rejecting a request for documents and testimony about the case from house Republicans.

The D.A. dismissing it as an “unprecedented inquiry” with no legitimate basis.

In a letter obtained by the Associated Press, the General Counsel Alvin Bragg slammed the congressional request as “an unlawful incursion into New York’s sovereignty.”

Trump faces charges over how he declared a payment to keep quiet an alleged affair.

It would be the first criminal case brought against a former United States president.
