NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Parliamentarians debating the Law Reform and Revision Bill 2022. State Minister of Legal Affairs Jomo Campbell says the bill gives more powers to the Law Reform Commission and modernizes the laws.

Campbell says one step taken to modernize the commission’s mandate is the proper appointment of the revision commissioner.

But while the government MP’s feel the amendments modernize the bill, St. Annes MP Adrian White is of a different view.

In his contribution to the debate, white says there’s nothing groundbreaking in the bill, adding that the amendments won’t change much.
