NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Social media outrage over a beach access sign prompted a Goldwynn executive to explain their side of the story.

He says wording on the sign which warned of pool and “beach areas” being exclusively reserved for guests will be changed.

The post which saw 56 shares and over 100 comments in a matter of hours, was full of angry commenters sharing their frustrations of beach access being limited around New Providence.

While one did speak specifically to issues on Goodman’s Bay Beach, no one specifically referenced past issues with beachfront property in front of Goldwynn.

Director of Hospitality Operations at Goldwyn Resort & Residences Stuart Bowe tells us the sign wasn’t intended to block anyone’s access to the public beach.

In fact, by the time we arrived for our interview, the sign had been removed.

Bowe tells us Goldwynn’s efforts to make the beach better for everyone can be seen through their efforts to keep spaces well beyond their property clean.

But what do Bahamian beachgoers have to say on the issue?

We spoke to Noelle Small who was enjoying the beach with a group of other retirees.

Small told me he comes to the beach nearly every day, and when asked if he or anyone he knows has ever had an issue.
