NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The National Dance Company is looking to showcase its spin on 50 years of independence.

In this week’s Arts in Entertainment Segment Director Robert Bain says the show won’t disappoint.

Portraying its artistic take on The Bahamas 50 years later, The National Dance Company is back with a show after eight years.

The dance company’s Director Robert Bain says the show promises to depict how people feel about their country, The Bahamas.

He says the company has been working on new material that reflects Bahamian art embodying the motto, the flag, and all things that represent the Bahamian people.

As for the dancers, Bain says he refers to them as the new generation of Bahamian dance.

Children from New Providence are not the only ones expected to be a part of the performance.

Bain says dancers from Grand Bahama will also be involved in the show and he welcome others from the Family Islands too, but unfortunately they have faced a stumbling block, funding.

The upcoming show will feature work from many others. Bain says the show is hoping to have a special guest in the audience.

If you’re looking for something to do between July 6 to the 8th, Bain is inviting you to support the young dancers.

The shows will be held at The University of The Bahamas.
