NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A convicted child rapist will remain behind bars after the Court of Appeal upheld his conviction and eight-year sentence.

Chervin Brown was convicted of unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl, whom he met on Facebook.

Prosecutors alleged that between the months of January 2020 and February 2020, Brown, who was 22, had sex with the minor on three occasions.

The Court of Appeal found that Brown’s challenge to his conviction had no prospects of success.

Regarding his sentence, the court said that the penalty was not unduly harsh.
