NASSAU, BAHAMAS – For those of you that have travelled before or plan on travelling, the Airbnb option may be at the top of your list.

And with a growing number of local Airbnb listings, one may wonder how the market affects the local hotel industry.

Travel has been the name of the game this summer for people around the world. While there are those who still opt for the traditional hotel, many choose to tap into the Airbnb market.

This new venture according to Bahamas Hotel and Tourism Association President Robert Sands, does not affect the hotel business locally, but in fact, helps to fill the gap.

For Sands however, a proper protocols system is important.
