NASSAU, BAHAMAS – As we continue to celebrate independence, it’s important to take a step back and remember where we came from.

Our Joshua Williams looked back in history where he learned about life in the early Bahamas.

He got an opportunity to tour the 50th Independence Celebration Exhibit at the Elizabeth Estates Library.

Old money bills, cleaning tools, books, and records provided a sneak peak into Bahamian life that in some cases even predates independence.

There were also the cooking supplies used back then, including a vintage tea pot.

Williams also learned about the kitchen pan that had many uses.

Adamson says most of the utensils used back then predates British rule.
