NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Police have charged a suspect with murder after a missing man was found dead.

Prosecutors say 32-year-old Ashton Sweeting is responsible for the murder of Murray Walkes, who was last seen alive on July 8.

Walkes’ body was found wrapped in a blue tarp on a farm off Carmichael Road on July 12.

Sweeting didn’t have to enter a plea to the murder charge when he stood before Acting Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley.

Sweeting was denied bail and he returns to court on October 24 to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.
