The Liberty Extend Win Streak to 6-Straight Games

Jonquel Jones and the New York Liberty made slight work of the competition over the weekend. 

They beat the Chicago Sky 89-73 on Friday at Barclay’s before heading to Indiana to beat the Fever 100-89. 

Jones went for 18 points and 7 rebounds against the Sky. She also played a key role in facilitating the offense, dishing out 4 assists. 


JJ held down the inside on both ends making 5 of 7 shots in the paint. The Liberty shot an otherworldly 50% from three in this game. Jones contributed making 2 of 3 from beyond the arc 

Breanna Stewart led the Liberty with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Sabrina Ionescu added 19, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists while lighting it up from outside on 5-8 shooting from 3. 

They went on to beat the Fever on Sunday thanks to a 15-point, 12-rebound day from Jones. 

Jones got hers in a highly efficient manner, going 5-10 from the field and once again going 2-3 from deep. 

Kelsey Mitchell led the Fever with 22 points. 

The Liberty put the league on notice when they issued a 99-61 utter beatdown to the defending champion Las Vegas Aces. 

They have a chance soundly demonstrate that the road to the WNBA championship runs through Brooklyn on Tuesday when they play the Aces once again.
