NASSAU, BAHAMAS – In recent times we’ve seen children abused or in some cases even die at the hands of their caretakers. This has been a concern for many parents when choosing to send their children to daycare or preschool.

While it’s not often talked about, it’s usually a concern for parents, the thought of their child being abused or mistreated by their caretaker.

Pediatrician Dr. Tamara Moss of Healthy Kids Pediatrics says sometimes noticing that your young child has been abused is hard to tell and the harsh reality is non-verbal children are at high risk for abuse.

The doctor says children should be taught the names of their body parts.

She says you can also look out for behavioral changes.
