NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Team Bahamas hosted the final practice session in the friendly confines of the Thomas A. Robinson Stadium before they left for the 52nd CARIFTA Track and Field Championships in Trinidad and Tobago.

The team includes a cross-section of CARIFTA veterans in the collegiate ranks to first-timers looking to announce their arrival on the international stage.

Head Coach Derek Wells leads the group of 78 student-athletes, which is tied for the largest in the field, matched only by the host country, Trinidad and Tobago.

Approximately 28 countries, fielding over 900 athletes, will look to add their story to the internationally acclaimed event that is considered the launchpad for legends.

Be sure and stay locked in to the Our TV Network for exclusive coverage of the 52nd CARIFTA Track and Field Championships.

Tune in this Friday for the opening ceremonies beginning at 3 p.m., then live action kicks off Saturday at 9 a.m. on Channel 212, with the afternoon session starting at 4 p.m.

The Bahamas’ CARIFTA Swimming Team arrived in Trinidad and Tobago ready to dominate.

Team Bahamas hit the pool at the National Aquatics Centre in Couva, Trinidad for the first time this morning. The 36-member team, led by their captains Elle Theberge, Mia Patton, Tia-Isabella Adderley, Ellie Gibson, William Farrington, Ayrton Moncur, and Caden Wells, got right into it following their arrival at Piarco International Airport last night after a three-hour Bahamasair chartered flight. Head Coach Travano McPhee shared with us how the first practice in the CARIFTA pool went.

Bahamian national team player AJ Storr is no stranger to the transfer portal and is on the move again.

Storr announced via social media his intentions to head to the SEC and join the Ole Miss program under Head Coach Chris Beard.

This will be the fourth stop in Storr’s college career, after beginning in the Big East at St. John’s, moving on to Wisconsin in the Big Ten, and most recently to the Kansas Jayhawks in the Big 12.

He will have one year of eligibility remaining.

Last year, Storr played in 34 games and averaged 6.1 points and 1.7 rebounds per game, a sharp decline from the 16.8 points and 3.9 rebounds he averaged as a sophomore in Wisconsin.
